The story of Studio Jenka begins with a name — Jenka, a beloved family nickname for our founder, Jenny. It was a term of endearment, a feeling of warmth, ease, and belonging. Over time, that feeling became something more — it became the heart of our design philosophy and the foundation of our studio.
Originally established as Jenny Matek Design, the business began with a simple but powerful mission: to create interiors that feel as good as they look. As the studio grew and evolved, so too did its identity — and with it, Studio Jenka was born. The new name reflects not only our expanded vision but also the soul and personality that has always been at the core of what we do.

Led by Jenny Matek, a multi-award-winning interior designer with over 20 years of experience, Studio Jenka is built on the pillars of integrity, innovation, and care. We’re also proud members of the Kitchen & Bathroom Designers Institute (KBDI), and in 2025, we were honoured to have seven of our projects named as finalists in the NSW KBDI Interior Design Awards — a testament to our commitment to excellence.
